Strawberry Crush

Ingredients

  • 2 strawberries, halved, plus extra to garnish
  • juice of ½ lemon
  • 30ml cinnamon honey syrup
  • 60ml gin
  • 1 heaped teaspoon yoghurt
  • ice cubes
  • 1 cinnamon stick, for the syrup
  • ¼ cup honey, for the syrup
  • ½ cup water, for the syrup
We just can't stop thinking about this aptly named cocktail. Strawberries, spice and a bit of tartness work wonders with the aromatic gin. Serves 1.
  1. For the cinnamon honey syrup, combine 1 cinnamon stick, ¼ cup honey and ½ cup water in a small saucepan and heat gently to a simmer, stirring until all the honey has melted. Leave to cool and disregard the cinnamon stick.
  2. For the cocktail, add the strawberries, lemon juice and cinnamon honey syrup to a cocktail shaker and muddle until broken up. Add the gin and yoghurt, then fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Fine strain into a cinnamon sugar-rimmed short glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with strawberry.
