Dehydrated Citrus Wheels

Ingredients

  • citrus of choice (oranges, limes, lemons) thinly sliced into wheels, de-seeded 
Make a batch and store in an airtight container, so they're ready for you to use anytime!

Dehydrated fruit is an on-trend cocktail garnish that's perfect for any time of year! It adds a subtle statement and is great for drinks that are already quite aromatic, because it doesn't add much aroma, but it can signal to the brain a message of citrus. 

Ready-to-use dehydrated fruit can be bought from kitchenware stores and supermarkets, but did you know it’s relatively easy (and cheap as chips) to dehydrate your own fruit at home!

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 60°C.
  2. Line a tray with baking paper.
  3. Thinly slice your chosen citrus into 'wheels' and lay them onto the baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle with caster sugar.
  5. Bake for at least 3 hours or until you reach your desired look and dehydration.
