Our wine pick this week is a characterful yet fresh chardonnay that’s nothing like Lady Gaga in a tutu (well, not much)
Taylors Jaraman Chardonnay
This Clare Valley beaut is an intensely flavoured chardonnay that’s light on its toes, rather like watching Lady Gaga dancing in the corps de ballet. If you can picture such a thing, although maybe you’d prefer not to. Instead imagine seductive scents of melon, lime, stone fruits like nectarine and white peach, tropical guava and green pineapple, plus a hard edge of flint, cedar and spice. Creamy yet fresh, you’ll taste citrus fruits, fig, melon and a smidge of oak. This is a wine that lingers long, rather like the mental picture of Lady Gaga in a tutu – but obviously a whole lot better than that.
