Get a Taste of Jacinda's Wedding Wine

Holding nuptials at a spectacular Hawke's Bay vineyard meant New Zealand's latest high-profile husband and wife enjoyed one of our finest drops to celebrate their big day.

Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and 'first man', Clarke Gayford said "I do" at Havelock North's Craggy Range Winery over the weekend.

The ceremony was held under a shady tree canopy in one of the warmest days so far this summer. Presumably, the couple hired out the entire estate, and took advantage of the stunning garden cottages and luxury lodges, which offer boutique accommodation among the vines, under the escarpment of Te Mata Peak.

The bride looked relaxed and stylish in a white halterneck gown custom-made by Juliette Hogan, and a sheer white full-length veil. Clarke wore a black suit, custom-made by Zambesi, with a white shirt and black tie.

No doubt, Craggy Range wines – among other delicious drops – were enjoyed by all.

Speaking to Newstalk ZB on Monday morning, Labour party leader Chris Hipkins said the wedding was "lovely".

"I'm pleased by and large, aside from a few hiccups along the way, they got the opportunity to enjoy their wedding in relative peace and privacy, and I think that was a lovely thing."
