The Red Rabbit


  • 45ml gin
  • 30ml passionfruit juice
  • 30ml cranberry (or pomegranate) juice
  • 10ml grenadine
  • 10ml simple syrup
  • juice of half lemon
  • tonic water, to top up
Lunar New Year cocktails are looking red-hot!

Originally developed by Marvin He for Phat Eatery's 2023 Lunar New Year Festivities, his fruit forward take on the Red Rabbit cocktail gets its bright red hue (which symbolises good health and fortune in Chinese culture) from dragonfruit and includes ginger flower-infused Nigori sake. 

Sake and Dragonfruit can be a little bit difficult to find, so – inspired by Marvin He – we've got a simplified take on the Red Rabbit cocktail. Enjoy!

  1. Add all ingredients except the soda water into a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake until well-chilled.
  3. Strain over fresh ice into a tumbler, and garnish with fresh raspberries.
  4. Top with tonic water.
  5. Garnish with a thin slice of orange or grapefruit, and (optional) green leafy herbs.
