Cherry Vanilla Smash


  • small handful of pitted fresh cherries (or frozen if not in season)
  • 50ml bourbon or whisky (we used Jameson)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp caster sugar (or to taste)
  • squeeze of lemon juice
  • soda water, to top

Vanilla is the secret ingredient in this cherry smash, helping to round out the fruity and/or smoky flavours of your favourite whisky

  1. Muddle pitted cherries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker to release their juices. Add the rest of the ingredients and muddle again. Add ice and shake well. Pour all into an ice-filled glass and top with soda water.
