1919 Gin

1919, gin, winter

This incredible New Zealand craft gin is fermented and distilled in a custom-made still with unusual local ingredients of Otago cherries, manuka honey and organic lemons and oranges, in addition to the more usual gin botanicals such as juniper, angelica root and cinnamon. The name is inspired by the year that New Zealand came scarily close to voting in prohibition but thankfully sense prevailed. If that thought gives you chills, warm yourself with a gin sour made with 1919, like the one pictured. Available at selected Liquorland stores, $69.99, 700ml
