Ultimate Chocolate and Wine Matches

This guide to pairing chocolate and red wine is one you’ll definitely want to try this Easter

At the Taylors Estate Winery in the Clare Valley, South Australia, you can experience an amazing chocolate and wine match experience, developed by Taylors’ Senior Brand Ambassador Cherry Stowman. For those of us who sadly can’t nip over the ditch, Cherry has shared some chocolate and wine pairing suggestions for trying out at home this Easter.

“Wine and chocolate is not always easy to match but when you get it right, it can be glorious,” says Cherry. “At the Taylors winery we offer a wine and chocolate tasting experience that showcases how great it can be. Based on how popular they are, I can confirm there’s a little chocoholic in all of us.”

QUICK TIP

“Merlot and shiraz are soft, lighter tannic wines so they’re a good match with milk chocolate which is less bitter,” advises Cherry. “Cabernet on the other hand is a more tannic wine, so it matches very well with dark chocolates.”
