Northern Delights: Aberlour 14YO Single Malt

This award-winning 14 year old single malt from Scotland's Speyside region is one for those who like to go big with their whisky

Steeped in centuries of legend, and surrounded by the dramatic Highland scenery of Ben Rinnes, the village of Aberlour lies at the very heart of Speyside, where the Lour burn joins the River Spey. The exceptionally pure, soft spring water used for making Aberlour whisky is drawn from nearby natural springs.

In this special place, the resources of nature, and the founder's passion for making the best single malt combine to make the generously multi-layered whiskies of Aberlour.

The Aberlour 14 year old single malt has been matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks, and first-fill American oak casks. Already multi-awarded, this individually batched release expression has the fruity, spiced sherry notes Aberlour is famous for, paired with decadent helpings of rich, creamy vanilla. Round and creamy on the palate, with sweet dark cherries, fudge and mocha coffee with a refreshing minty breeze; quite long on the finish, with lingering honey and wood spice.

With clove, cardamom and camphor on the nose, followed by a wave of sweeter notes like toffee, milk chocolate and orange rind, this full-bodied, round whisky is a great drink for when it's chilly outside.
