Ingredients

375ml red wine

200g jam sugar

1 star anise

1 pinch of allspice

Place all ingredients in a saucepan and stir to combine

Gently heat to dissolve sugar

Turn up the heat and let the liquid boil for 1520 minutes until syrupy

Strain into a small, sterilised jar and seal. This will last in the fridge for up to four weeks

Serve with your favourite cheese, crackers and a glass of your favourite wine
