Whisky IPA Sour

Whisky IPA Sour

Ingredients

  • 50ml IPA whisky such as Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition or Glenfiddich IPA Experiment
  • 25ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml beer syrup (see super easy recipe in method instructions)
  • 1 egg white (optional)

Complex malt whisky flavours combine with sweet hoppy syrup and tangy lemon to make this perfectly balanced sour utterly irresistible. Serves 1

  1. To make the beer syrup, heat 330ml (1 bottle/can) beer - any beer is fine, as long as it's not a light beer - in a saucepan on medium-high heat. Allow to boil, stirring constantly, until the beer reduces to a syrupy glaze. Add 15g (about a tablespoon) of butter and stir through to melt. Use immediately.
  2. Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake (without ice) to combine. Add ice and shake for a further 30 seconds
  3. Strain into a short, ice-filled glass and top with a quick drizzle of the beer syrup
