Whisky IPA Sour

Ingredients

  • 50ml IPA whisky such as Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition or Glenfiddich IPA Experiment
  • 25ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml beer syrup (see super easy recipe in method instructions)
  • 1 egg white (optional)

Complex malt whisky flavours combine with sweet hoppy syrup and tangy lemon to make this perfectly balanced sour utterly irresistible. Serves 1

  1. Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake (without ice) to combine. Add ice and shake for a further 30 seconds

    1. Add 2 cups of beer (we used a pale ale) and 1 cup of sugar (we used brown sugar) to a saucepan, stir and heat on low.
    2. Continue heating, stirring occasionally, until reduced by half.
    3. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  2. Strain into a short, ice-filled glass and top with a quick drizzle of the beer syrup
