Yokohama Bramble

Ingredients

  • 50ml Bombay Bramble Gin
  • 20ml fresh lemon juice
  • 10ml agave nectar
  • shaved ice
  • edible yellow and orange marigolds, to garnish
This shaved-ice gimlet takes its lead from the Japanese drink kakigōri. Blocks of ice saved during the colder months would be shaved and served with sweet syrup to Japanese aristocracy during the summer. Serves 1
  1. Add first three ingredients to a small jug or glass
  2. Fill a frozen coupette with shaved ice
  3. Pour liquid over and give a quick stir
  4. Garnish with marigolds to serve. Note: As the ice melts, the drink will become longer and taste like a slushie.
