 Pineapple Whiskey Sour

Ingredients

  • 60ml whiskey
  • 25ml pineapple juice
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 10ml simple syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • ice
  • pineapple and cherries, to garnish (we used freeze-dried)
We love this smooth, sweet whiskey sour with the addition of pineapple juice – garnish with fresh or freeze-dried fruit, like we have here. Serves 1

WHY DRY SHAKE?

The first shake, without ice, is to break down the proteins in the egg white and make it foamy and silky smooth. 

  1. Add whiskey, pineapple juice, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Separate egg yolk and white, and add egg white only to shaker.
  3. "Dry shake' (without ice) for one minute.
  4. Add ice to shaker and shake again for one minute.
  5. Strain into glass and garnish with pineapple and cherries (we used freeze-dried but fresh is also great).
