Mango Gin Slinger


  • For the drink:
  • 60ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
  • tin mango slices, in juice
  • 1 tablespoons lime juice
  • cup quick cinnamon syrup (see below)
  • Quick cinnamon syrup:
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • cup boiling water
  • Cinnamon sugar rim:
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon

Indulge in a sweet, spiced mango treat, livened with zesty lime and an ultra fast cinnamon syrup. Serves 1

  1. CINNAMON SUGAR RIM: Using two small plates, dip the rim of a martini glass into the lime juice and then into the mixed caster sugar and ground cinnamon

  2. CINNAMON SYRUP: Place the cinnamon sticks in a lidded, sealable jar, add the sugar and boiling water. Use a tea towel to protect your hands and shake vigorously until the sugar has melted. Leave to cool slightly. (Note: the longer you leave to infuse, the stronger the cinnamon flavour keeps for three days in the fridge).
  3. FOR THE DRINK: Puree the mango slices with some of their juices in a blender. Add to a cocktail shaker half filled with ice, along with the Bombay Sapphire Gin, lime juice and cup of the cinnamon syrup. Shake until icy cold then strain into the glass
