Plum and Ginger Whisky Sour


  • 3–4 tinned black doris plums
  • 30ml black doris plum syrup from tin
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 75ml whisky
  • ice

The perfect balance of fruity, tangy, sweet and sour – could the Plum and Ginger Whisky Sour be the best cocktail ever?

  1. Place all ingredients, except ice, in a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the plums
  2. Add ice and shake well
  3. Taste and adjust accordingly – there should be a good balance between the sweet plum and sour lemon
  4. Strain into a martini glass or champagne saucer and garnish with lemon zest
