Gin Noir Sour

Gin Noir Sour

Ingredients

  • 40ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
  • 10ml Dom Benedictine
  • 20ml fresh lemon juice
  • 20ml egg whites
  • 3/4 tablespoon coconut sugar
  • 30ml New Zealand pinot noir (we used Wither Hills)
  • grapes (green or red) and coconut chips, to garnish (optional)
  • ice

Sweet, sour and velvety smooth, this pretty cocktail is a modern classic in the making. Serves 1

  1. Add all ingredients except the pinot noir to a shaker (or jam jar), shake with no ice for 10 seconds and then half-fill the jar with ice and shake hard for another 10 seconds
  2. Fine strain into a rocks glass over cubed ice, pour the Wither Hills Pinot Noir to float on top of the drink, and garnish with grapes and a sprinkle of coconut flakes (if using)
  3. Hot tip: the first dry shake (without ice) helps to emulsify the egg white to make sure you are getting the most velvety drink possible
