Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon active dried-yeast mixture (Edmond's Surebake)
  • 1 teaspoon caster sugar
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 cups high-grade or '00' flour
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
This is a simple base for savoury and sweet pizzas.
  1. In a bowl, combine active dried-yeast mixture, caster sugar and water. Stir until no lumps appear, then set aside for 10 minutes or until the yeast begins to foam on the surface.
  2. In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, place the flour, salt, oil and yeast mixture. Mix until well combined then knead into a smooth dough, roughly 8 minutes. Place the dough into a clean bowl, cover and set aside in a warm place until doubled in size, roughly 1.5-2 hours.
  3. On a lightly-floured surface, roll out dough into a circle 30cm in diameter. Cover with toppings of your choice and fan bake at 220° for 10-15 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
