Ingredients

  • 45ml Chatelle Napoleon Brandy or cognac
  • 45ml Cointreau or triple sec
  • juice of 2 large oranges, freshly squeezed
  • juice of 1 small lemon
The sidecar is a 1920's cocktail said to have been created in honour of an eccentric military man who would roll up outside the bar in the sidecar of his chauffeur-driven motorcycle. Serves 2
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all ingredients
  2. Shake well, then strain into two glasses
  3. Taste and increase the orange or lemon juice if necessary
