Boozy Chai


  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 6 chai tea bags
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole star anise
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup Kraken Black Spiced Rum
  • pinch cinnamon, to garnish

Warming spices, tea and a hint of rum make this the cosiest of cocktails

  1. In a saucepan, place the water and the tea bags (remove any strings and tags). Allow to brew for 5 minutes on a low heat
  2. Add all spices and continue to brew for another 5 or so minutes on a low heat
  3. Add the sugar and the milk and increase the heat slightly
  4. Gently simmer for a few minutes, then take off the heat and add the rum. Taste and adjust as necessary
  5. Remove tea bags and cinnamon sticks
  6. Serve in mugs, garnished with a pinch of cinnamon
