Sawmill creates Homegrown Lager

Matakana brewery Sawmill has created a crisp new lager using only New Zealand hops and malts

So simple, and so tasty. Sawmill Brewery is known for its resourcefulness and dedication to innovation and sustainability, and their new lager Homegrown ticks all the boxes.

This super crisp and straight up 4%ABV lager uses hops and malts grown entirely in New Zealand by innovative New Zealand businesses, including Nelson-based Clayton Hops,  and is available in six-pack cans. Sawmill co-owner Kirsty McKay says, "This beer is about championing the producers and farmers here in Aotearoa that make brewing a real New Zealand lager possible,".

The independent brewery in Matakana, north of Auckland, was New Zealand's first B-Corp certified brewery, an international certification which recognises companies' commitment to social and environmental responsibility and transparency.
