Mix and match

As the pool games come to an end, we look at this week's beers for the boys and raise a glass to the teams on their way home

ENGLAND

This will be the last match for the Lions, so let's raise a toast to the host with an Emerson's London Porter. Whatever the result, cheers for having us, lads.

ITALY

With a 2.30am kick-off on this side of the world, you'll be looking for something light and smooth to end your night on. Peroni is full of flavour and classic Italian style, and a great pairing for a late night slice of pizza. Let's hope Italy play as well as they taste.

IRELAND

In July, UK newspaper the Daily Express reported a 100-year-old Grandmother credited her long life to drinking Guinness for breakfast. Even with that sort of endorsement, 4.45am may be a bit early for this classic, full-bodied stout.Thankfully Guinness makes a fantastic ingredient for many delicious breakfast treats. We recommend adding a cup of Guinness to your waffle batter for delightfully fluffy waffles with a malty end note that goes really well with chocolate sauce. Enjoy!

USA

An 8am start require's a subtle drink. Monteith's American Pale Ale has a refreshingly well-balanced hoppy nose, and will wash down an American style steak breakfast nicely.
