Good Beer Week 2015

Cheers to beer

Good Beer Week 2015 kicks off for the fifth time this weekend. Get a handle on what’s happening with our guide.

Melbourne is gearing up for a nine-day celebration of all things good and beery. With an epic line-up of events, this year’s Good Beer Week festival is set to draw in brewers, hopheads and rookies from all corners of the globe.

Tuatara and Epic are amongst the pack of Kiwi brewers making the trip. Like Wellington’s Beervana Festival, Good Beer Week is a chance for some trans-Tasman bonding between likeminded Aussie and Kiwi brewmasters.

The head honcho of Tuatara, Carl Vasta, will be spending time at the Hub, the heart of the festival, where fans can hang with the brewers and sample their yeasty creations. A Hopology event will see Epic’s Luke Nicholas and Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing give their two cents on all things Humulus Lupulus (hops).

However, if you’re looking to raise a glass to Good Beer Week from the comfort of Aotearoa, you’re in luck. Check out our Kiwi craft beer picks below.

The festival itself will be jam packed with over 250 events across 180 venues, divided into five different ‘streams’ (categories) to help punters navigate the Good Beer Week waters.

Good Beer Week 2015 runs between May 16-24 and is on track to be the biggest festival since it began in 2011.
